Before selling any products, you will need to enable live mode for your store by activating your store in two steps.


When you first sign up for Lemon Squeezy, your store will be in test mode. Before selling any products, you will need to enable live mode for your store. You can do this by clicking the “Activate your store” button in the sidebar.

There are two steps to the activation process:

  1. Fill in a short questionnaire about your business and customers
  2. Verify your identity

Once submitted, approvals typically happen in 2-3 business days. We recommend you answer the questions honestly and provide as much information as possible.

Why do I have to activate my store?

One of the biggest benefits of using Lemon Squeezy, is we act as the merchant of record on your behalf. This is important when selling digital products, software/SaaS, online courses, etc. It’s easy to go cross-border with your payments, and before you know it, you are stuck worrying about tax compliance, fraud, and much more.

Lemon Squeezy takes care of all those headaches for you as the merchant of record. For this reason, Lemon Squeezy reviews every store to run KYC & KYB checks to ensure the validity of your business and that the products you’re selling are aligned with our terms & acceptable use policies.

What types of stores do you approve?

We approve most stores selling digital goods that can be fulfilled by Lemon Squeezy (e.g. eBooks, PDFs, design assets, photos, audio, video, etc.) as long as they are not prohibited.

We typically do not approve stores selling services or goods fulfilled outside of Lemon Squeezy (e.g. physical goods, design services, rentals, access to private telegram groups, etc). However, there are some exceptions to this rule. Businesses using subscriptions and/or license keys to manage fulfilment (e.g. SaaS/software companies, premium courses, membership sites, etc.) are typically allowed.

What is the wait time for new applications?

What if my application is not approved?

We understand that receiving a notification that your application was not approved can be disappointing. Why is my application still pending?

We understand that waiting for an application decision can be challenging, and we want to keep you informed. Your application may remain in a pending state for a couple of reasons:

  • High Demand: Due to the popularity of our services, we may experience a high volume of applications. Rest assured, our team is working diligently to review and process each application as quickly as possible.
  • Risk Assessment: As part of our thorough review process, we conduct a comprehensive risk assessment for each application. This helps ensure the safety and security of our platform and community. While this step can sometimes extend the review period, it is essential to maintaining our high standards.
  • Product Support: Our platform supports a wide range of products and services. However, some applications may stay pending with the potential of being denied if they fall outside our current scope of supported products. We are continuously working to expand our capabilities and welcome your feedback. If your product is not currently supported, please reach out to us. Your input helps us prioritize future updates and enhancements.
  • Country Support: In some cases we are unable to support your country at this time. We are actively working to expand our reach, and your application helps us prioritize new regions.
